Hay apartamentos que se diseñan, y hay otros que se revelan. Saint Germain pertenece a los segundos: un espacio que desde su primer boceto exigía autenticidad, un lugar dispuesto a sostener el contraste como quien sostiene una convicción. Sus propietarios no buscaban un refugio complaciente, sino un territorio con carácter propio, y fue esa certeza la que nos permitió atrevernos. En el baño social decidimos romper la cautela: un papel colgadura que estalla en vida cubre los muros como si la casa misma respirara color, y una grifería de gesto escultórico corona el conjunto, transformando un ritual cotidiano en un pequeño acto de arte.

El piso en espina nos toma de la mano y nos conduce por el apartamento como un hilo narrativo, silencioso pero firme, hasta desembocar en la cocina. Allí, el relato cambia de tono: el enchape se enciende en colores vibrantes y patrones que insuflan dinamismo, apartándose deliberadamente de la cadencia del resto de la casa. Una tira de luz traza la frontera entre un capítulo y el siguiente, subrayando la cocina como un espacio que quiere ser protagonista. El lenguaje de espiga regresa, ahora en el salpicadero, vestido de un azul sofisticado y vivo que reafirma su presencia sin perder la elegancia que gobierna el conjunto.

Toda casa necesita una voz que la atraviese de principio a fin, incluso cuando cada habitación desee contar algo distinto. En Saint Germain, esa voz es el diálogo entre el azul profundo y el patrón de espiga, que reaparece en el baño principal para envolver un espacio amplio y sereno, pensado para el descanso sin prisa. Es la manera en que la casa se recuerda a sí misma, un eco que da coherencia a la diversidad de sus gestos.

Las molduras y cornisas trazan sobre los muros una caligrafía silenciosa, un vestigio neoclásico que da solemnidad al recorrido. El mismo espíritu se asoma en el cuarto principal, donde una estructura liviana en las ventanas, resuelta en forma de arco, retoma esa vocación clásica con delicadeza, demostrando que la modernidad más honesta es la que dialoga con el pasado sin miedo a contradecirlo.

El verdadero giro, el momento donde el apartamento se reinventó por completo, ocurrió en la cocina: su redisposición liberó el espacio de trabajo y circulación, devolviéndole al corazón de la casa la amplitud que merecía.

Some apartments are designed, and others are revealed. Saint Germain belongs to the latter: a space that, from its very first sketch, demanded authenticity — a place willing to hold contrast the way one holds a conviction. Its owners were not seeking a complacent refuge, but a territory with a character of its own, and it was that certainty that gave us permission to be bold. In the social bathroom, we chose to break with caution: wallpaper bursting with life covers the walls as if the house itself were breathing color, while a sculptural faucet crowns the composition, turning an everyday ritual into a small act of art.

Herringbone flooring takes us by the hand and leads us through the apartment like a quiet but insistent narrative thread, until it arrives at the kitchen. There, the story shifts register: the tile ignites into vibrant colors and patterns that lend the design a new dynamism, deliberately breaking from the rhythm of the rest of the home. A strip of light traces the border between one chapter and the next, underlining the kitchen as a space meant to take center stage. The herringbone language returns once more on the backsplash, now dressed in a sophisticated, vivid blue that reaffirms its presence without losing the elegance that governs the whole.

Every home needs a voice that runs through it from beginning to end, even as each room longs to tell a different story. In Saint Germain, that voice is the dialogue between deep blue and the herringbone pattern, which reappears in the primary bathroom to envelop a space designed to be spacious and unhurried. It is the way the house remembers itself — an echo that lends coherence to the diversity of its gestures.
